Dr. Melamed is an assistant professor in Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and a gynecologic oncologist practicing at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. His research seeks to improve cancer care by applying innovative study designs and analytic approaches to observational data.

Dr. Miralpeiz has always been heavily involved in gynecologic cancer and the development of innovative strategies for improving patient care trough ERAS and Prehabilitation programs."

In this episode of the IJGC podcast, Editor-in-Chief Dr. Pedro Ramirez, is joined by Dr. Amir Jazaeri from the MD Anderson Cancer Center to provide an introductory overview of the current state and future challenges for immunotherapy in gynecologic cancers. Dr. Jazaeri is a Professor and the Director of the Gynecologic Cancer Immunotherapy Program in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. Since his recruitment to MD Anderson in 2014, he has established a broad base immunotherapy program for gynecologic cancers that include adoptive cell therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitor investigations. His other areas of research interest include innovative clinical trial designs and translational research for identification of novel immunotherapy targets for gynecologic cancers.

Dr. Plante has a major interest in minimally invasive surgical (MIS) approaches in the treatment of gynecologic cancers and in fertility-preserving surgery for young women with cervical cancer. Dr Plante is currently leading two important international trials the SHAPE trial and the Contessa trial and currently serves as the co-chair of the cervical cancer research network (CCRN) as part of the GCIG.

Be sure to read his article, "A proposal for a new classification of ‘unfavorable risk criteria’ in patients with stage I endometrial cancer," published in the September 2019 issue of IJGC. Dr. Glaser is a radiation oncologist at City of Hope in greater Los Angeles, California, where he specializes in brachytherapy. His primary clinical and research focus includes gynecologic cancer, prostate cancer, and breast cancer.
